The east line If you had some good M&S tires for that truck of yours you should be able to navigate that much snow? Heck I was heading 10km in the bush in the family van this year... And that was the snow we had in November.... ;D You do have some nice looking country though...

Saturday, Feb 5th. I ran the east line this morning. I had one stinker in a 220. I was surprised to see him out. I nearly had a wreck on the tractor at the same hill as I had with the truck. Needless to say it ticked me off and I pulled everything but two cat sets and two live traps. I will continue to trap the North end of the property, but stay away from the South end and those trecherous hills. I have a fear of getting upside under the tractor and my cell phone does not work well on the back side. I may make a few more sets or put out some more snares. I need to put together a bait pile and set it. Season is over February 15th for everything except beavers and coyotes. I saw this little guy out and about while running the line. He did not seem to be hurt, but did look a little thin. I left him to his own business.

You know that skinny little grinner is just going to run to Mohawks and tell all his grinners about the open country he found, then you will have a grinner flood lol

Nightrider, this skunk did not spray. I find that around 50 percent, maybe even a little higher than that, of the skunks caught in a 220 never spray. Sure makes life easier when they do not spray, plus there is the essence to extract.

I am kinda glad we dont have skunks here but they sure look cool, I would love to make a set of snow mobiel mits out of them and have the stripes go all the way up the gauntlets. That is handy too SS you dont have to buy skunk for lure fixxins.

The day has arrived. It is with great sadness, that I announce that My trap line is shut down for the season. I pulled the remaining traps, snares and cages this morning. Fur Harvesting season is over on Feb 15th. Diesel fuel here is now $3.49 a gallon. The temps are supposed to reach upper 40's by the week end which will make my trapping area a muddy mess. I do not want to tear up the roads with the tractor. To my way of thinking, I have had a great season. I caught a lot of fur, got lots of fresh air and exercise, lost a few pounds and had a blast. I had several firsts this year, First bobcat caught by myself. First coyote in a foothold. First fox in a foot hold. First double on coyotes in a single day. Yes I had a Good Run. Beaver season is open till the end of March. I may have to try that if the water returns to liquid by then. Thanks to all for your advice, ideas, encouragement and comments. I am already making my supply list for next year.  God bless you all
