The day has finally arrived. I will start sitting Coni's out today. I will set on two properties, about 30 buckets on one property and 24 on the other. Once I get all the coni's out, I will start with the foot hold traps. I estimate it will take three days to get everything set. They are predicting rain for this afternoon, as the season does not open till noon, the rain may make for a very damp first day. I had planned to set half on the creeks and half on the feeders, but with the rain, I may have to set the creek traps higher up on the banks or risk loosing them. There are 4 creeks that run through the property and all carry lots of water. With the recent rain, There will be more run off than usual.

Buy he time I got hay set for the horses and cattle, it was sprinkling rain. The season opened at noon and I set the first 220 at 12:03. I managed to get 31 traps in on one property. By 3PM I was wet and cold, so I decided to wait on the 2nd property. It never rained hard, but It never stopped raining. I set a few on the creeks, but not at the water line, more like near the high water mark. I also set some buckets on some random trails, most likely that was a waste of time. But, I have caught coon there before. The trails are grass and leaf covered and sign is not visible. I also set 8 yote snares. I will run the line tomorrow and then set the 2nd property. They say it will be 26 degrees F in the morning.

I ran the line this morning. 7 coon and 1 possum. The biggest coon was 25.8 pounds and the possum weighed 11.2 pounds. Set out 13 more buckets on the 2nd property, around the pond, a feeder, and a feeder creek to the pond. The pelts, or at least one looks real good. I fleshed a part of one of the middle sized coons and found it prime. They all went into the freezer. They were too hot to flesh. I thought I liked the new photobucket, but maybe not. Anyone been able to post the actual photo on here?

I had to go into the "setting" and make a change, the drop down box did not show the IMG icon, which is what I needed. Changed that and it works fine now. Thanks for all the help guys

Looking good SS your off to the races. Nice pic The new photobucket just left click and right click your img icon and go back to your posting and paste. My img icon does not turn blue anymore or say copy, that must be one of the changes
