The first 37 are in a circle that is about 2 1/2 miles and the other 13 is about 2 miles further west and cover about 1/2 mile. I will expand after Deer season which is open from Dec 1 to Dec 12. The reason i asked this question H. is because i got 17 coons in 3 different spots about 1 mile apart i gang set each spot with 4 sets, and i wanted to compare with your distances,

White, do you find that when you gang set, ie the sets are only a few feet apart, that after catching the first coon, the others seem to scatter out of fear. I ususally only catch one, sometimes two coons when I have several sets close together. I have tried about everything I can think of and my catch rate stays consistant from year to year.

When i gang set i like keep my sets about 25 feet apart They are set mostly in wooded areas and can't see each other, I got some 3 out of 4s but never a 4 out of 4.

2 coons and 2 possums, one coon and both possums came off the creeks and one coon came off the pond dam. High winds today, tonight and tomorrow with a 30% chance of showers. Have no clue what tomorrow will bring.

Looking good H, hopefully we got a few more days before we will have to start fighting them due to weather and cold. If it's windy, the will shut down somewhere in the middle to upper 20's F. If little wind, they will start locking up around 18-20 F. esp. if it is going to last a while........ looks like it might.

Judd those are two cans of Jack Mackeral. I have been changing up the bait a little, but it does not seem to have helped any. The coons just aren't where my traps are

I ran the lines this morning. We had high wind all night, but that did not slow down the possums. No coons were caught. I caught 4 Possums off the creek and one off the edge of the pond. I also had one snapped 160 on the creek. I suspect there is something running around with a sore nose this morning ;D ;D ;D

I spent the afternoon putting in some #3 coil spring traps for coyote, fox and bobcat. I was able to get 10 in before I just plain wore out. The wind is predicted to blow between 16-18 mph with gust up to 26 mph all night, It was a littl scary in the woods with all the trees cracking, popping and squeaking and occcasionally a limb crashing to the ground. I think the wind today has been blowing around 20 mph. The low in the morning will be 23 degrees F, so I have no idea what the critters will do tonight. At any rate, I suspect the possums will be out in full force.
