Checked the other sites and ended up with three more smaller coyotes. Finally took a small load of my precious bait to where the cow is supposed to be to at least get the birds going. Funny thing is I caught a yote there with no bait. It is his dumping ground for his dead so I am sure every yote in the area visits it from time to time.

Well checked the other three baits were I had the 5 the other day and hit the jack pot! At the first site that is 1 mile from the house[you can see my house] I had 3 coyotes , all nice but one very large male. The next site thet is three mile from site one I had 5 . A big male,a big female and three smaller ones. At the third the place I had the broken snare last time I got three big ones! I always set 6 snares at a site ( so I always know how many I have to pick up) . I ended up with 11 yotes out of 18 snares.I think that is a personal best for me. I never snared around my place last year but hit them hard the two years previous. It is nice to see that all of them are in good shape and no mange yet,and no mouse problems. And now---- I skin! LoL.

Was out of the house at 6 this morning and got a pretty got handle on them. I got 9 on the boards. Washed them all . I ended up fleshing and washing one that I shouldnt have. He had the disease that makes them look wet, dark coloured , and smell like cow poop! Wasted time on him ,o well. Thought I was getting a little caught up so I went to check my other three baits. Caught 2 at the first one and one at the second one. Was heading to the third site when I realized I forgot my brand new 18 volt dewalt cordless drill at the first place so I went back and never made it to the third, have to go there in the morning. I use the drill to drill through the pig snouts so i can wire them to a tree so the yotes cant carry them away. They sure work hard at them. The hide that is atached to the head is so thin in a couple days it is see through.

Ya about the time i think I am thinking I got them figured I will draw a big goose egg for a run or two ! Lol . The good thing is I only have One tank of gas into catching them so far. I am sure I got the cream now the stranglers and fox if there are any fox left in the country. The farthest bait is 5 miles from my step.

Got to the third spot that I didn't get too last night. I had 4 yotes. Two where no good and the other two were nice. The two that where good I caught on the same trail. If they would have gone towards each other they could have touched noses! It was a little experiment because I always see tracks around or up to caught ones when we have snow . I was in a bit of a hurry when I set the place up or the kids where anyways , so I set two close . More to have my quota of six sets per bait. I also scored a mule deer road kill on the way home from town so I have some bait for tomorrows check. That is one thing that Saskatchewan C.O's have right it is just a phone call and you can pick them up for bait.
