Jan.25, 2011 Remember when in the above post I said we had 2 snares and a foothold set at the other end of the mile section? And remember how I said the cats that got away were still in that section and we should be seeing them in a few days? (either caught or sign where they got away again) Well, at least one of them came through, and found my #3 waiting for her. I have NO idea where the tom is! I just hope he can't stand being ALL ALONE when the pretty lady next door has left SO many nice smells for him! :shock:  LOL! We sure are fortunate to have had this opportunity. She is a pretty nice lil female, at 18.7 lbs. Not the biggest ever or the best, but she SURE is a keeper!!!!! We didn't have any charged batteries in the camera, as Wyatt decided to take pics of all the dogs and everything else under the sun and we didn't know it! lol! At least I still had the FLIP video recorder. I don't think it takes very good vids, but at least it has saved us several times!!!! Here is russ holding her just a little ways from the set.  See what tomorrow will bring? |

We ended up catching 2 more coyotes one in a snare, and one in a foothold, 9 more coon, and 9 more rats.
Our total take for the season was:
Coon------99
muskrat---74
opposum-24
bobcat------3
red fox------3
coyote------3
beaver------2
skunk-------1

Thanks white. Looking back I wish I'd have went ahead and tried a little bit harder to get that 100th coon. I know 99 is as close as you can get to it, but 100 is a rounder number plus it was my goal. I guess I was happy with it at the time though, and i kinda slacked off in my thinking and decided the 99 was close enough.

99 coons is very good, in fact excellent. Both you and your son had a very good year. Looking over some of your pics from last year you both are very talented in what you do and your work man ship only proves your ability and dedication in to some thing that you believe in.This up coming fall i will be waiting for more trapping pics and post.
