Well this morning we ended up catching four. Didn't have time to take a pic as extra time was very very limited today. What sucks is I am starting to come down with what Russ has had for the past couple of days

Four coons in the freezer ain't a bad thing....Better than two, not as good as 18. Congrats. Hope you feel better soon. It sucks to be sick when there is things to do that you really do want to do. I suffered all last season. I know what I am saying.

It is VERY nice to have a partner you can depend on. Russ covered my hind end today. He went out and ran his half of the line, then I rode along with him as he checked my half, as this morning I was still feeling pretty rough. By this afternoon, I was starting to feel like a new man. I went out and rebuilt a coon land set, and put in 3 sets for a red fox. This morning, because of my sickness and our lack of time, we didn't get pics again, sorry, maybe tomorrow if we catch anything. Todays catch was 2 coons. Most of our sets were frozen over, and only had about 15% of our traps on land or in an unfrozen area. We have more on land now, thanks to Russ and Wyatt making some on another property. Was almost 60 F today so alot of ice came off. Hopefully we will get good movement again. Thanks everyone for the concern, and nice words, you guys are all awesome, Thanks!!!!!

Hey Catmando, Congrats, glad you are feeling better. I think you have been hanging around me too much and my bad trapping habits have rubbed off on you. Most folks I talked to today only had 2 or 3 coons on this mornings check. I know of at least 4 counting you and I. We all have out about the same number of traps. I am going to put in a dozen dry lands set tomorrow on another creek. See if that helps the tally sheet any.

First I want to thank everyone for all the kind words, and all the encouragement. It means alot and really helps us to keep on going when it's getting tough. Thanks again all! Okay, back on schedule, I am pretty much back normal from my sick spell, and all is returning to the normal "smooth"! Today we picked up 5 nice coons, a possum, and a muskrat. The rat came off one of Russ's coon sets. We DID get some pics this time of coon/fur take, and some of Wyatt fleshing for the first time on the possum we caught today. He did fantastic! He caught on quick and I only helped him minimally getting started, and around the front legs, but it was a female, so the pouch I helped him on. Other then that, he did it! I was pleasantly surprised as was Russ, that he did a top notch job! Anyway the ice was getting pretty much thawed on Russ's half of the line, but mine was only about 50/50. After the warm sunny day today, and the howling winds, it should all be off now. Total is now 76...... 24 left to go! Anyway, Here are the pics! Wyatt hard at it! He is a natural!!! NOW I will have my skinner/boarding guy (Russ), and my fleshing guy(Wyatt), and all I have to do is ENJOY TRAPPING!!!!! (wouldn't it be nice though?)

Nice job on that Grinner Wyatt. You guys are going to be really bored when you hit that 100 mark. I suggest you just keep on keeping on right on through the season with dry land coon trapping. Nothing like checking 50 or 60 sets when the wind chill is 15 below zero. You can sleep in July and August when it is too hot to do anything!!

We will be working on the 'cat goal then!!!! But I highly doubt we will get to 100 coons before they start shutting down for a while. It looks like that may happen this next week. So, we will have to catch them (coons) as we find them while cat trapping, in order to hit the mark.
