Okay, today had it's ups and downs! We have been dealing with horrible winds the last couple days and nights. I hate it! Anyway, on the regular morning line, we ended up with 3 more coons and 2 oppossums. We also had 2 appearant pull outs, but I am suspicious of fur theft. I can't tell for sure, so I will leave them for now. They were fairly close together, the bank on both sets was tore up pretty badly, and each trap was run down to the end of the drowner and had no sign in the jaws of a pull out. I figure it is a possibility that someone came across one, with coon still on the bank, shot it, took it out of the trap, and flung the trap back out into the creek and it ran down to the end of the drowner, and then they started looking around, and found another about 75 yards on down the line. It was exactly the same story with it. We have had no pull outs as best as we can remember, maybe one at most. I don't understand why we hit them good enough for them to tear the bank up like that, then go out on the deep end of the drowner and escape? And then 2 in a row exactly in the same condition? I don't know, but it stinks. Part of it, I know, but it still stinks. Then we picked up another coon out on the afternoon spot, on a gang set farm south west of me about 25 min. I didn't get any pic of it, but it was a little on the small side and was very black furred. Which experiance has taught, when they are that black, the leather is very blue, so I released him. So the final score today was 4 coons with 2 thefts/pullouts, 2 oppossums, and OH YEAH, I got a nice little red fox this morning along my regular line. I had set 2 dirt holes and a flat set on Saturday. This morning she was in one of the dirt holes. I am proud to say it was taken on our home made lures and bait! Okay, time to shut up and show! my first trapped red fox todays take, minus the 2 possum (we kept 1, released the other), and the 1 coon I released. Present Coon season total-#80. We shall see what happens on the morrow! P.s. wyatt said to say thanks to everyone!!!

Thanks all for the nice words. Well we aren't gonna make our goal of 100 in 2 weeks. Tomorrow's check will be it. We will continue to trap coon on a "as we see sign" bases, but our cat traps are gettin real itchy. So we will pull the lines and start after the meow's by the week end. We did manage to pop 2 more today, and had several misses for some reason or another. We will more than likely, weather permitting, go till this weekend with the lines. Then it's time to get spots. new total= 82, hopeful for the 100 for the season. I had more luck on the fox sets again this morning. Another vixen, which was a suprise, I thought it would be a male. Maybe tonight! Pick this one up in the OTHER dirt hole, which contained my chunk beaver meat bait flavored with tonquin and castor. flat set still untouched. We only took a pic of the red fox, both the one from today, along with the one from yesterday. Today's is on the right hand side as you look at the pic. Talk at you all tomorrow, and thanks for all the encouragement, nice words, and such.

We finally got all the lines pulled this morning. We got one last coon, a nice boar. This one brings the total up to 84. I have a suspicion they may lay up for a few days....... wait and see. I am changing the name of the post, as we are beginning to trap other animals. Rats, fox, and bobcats will now become our main focus. We will still try and hit 100 coon before seasons end. We will watch for their movements as we trap the other animals, and as we see sign of coons, we will try and catch them. Later!
