Finally got to get more bait out today. The sight I baited a month ago were still being checked out. I plan to start setting tomorrow if the weather is ok. Forecast isn't to good. Low of -31 tonight. Will have to see. Got a cow from my brother in law. For the record cows freeze harder then hogs but still wasn't solid everywhere.

Thanks! I have been taking out rats and beavers from the freezer to hopefully get caught up for the first sale. I am not going to have as many sites this year bit did bait a couple I haven't for several years. Hopefully the coyotes remember them. And that the quality is ok.

I don't blame you one bit, that is too cold to work in. How are you cutting up the cow, with a chain saw? Jim

Ya I used a chainsaw. with the advise of someone on this forum. I think white I replaced the bar oil with canola oil last year for hogs and kept using it through beaver trapping through the ice. Still working so must be ok. I used to try and get them fresh and skin and quarter them but it is way easier to let them get hard as possible then cut them up. Easier to handle frozen prices and they get a real nice aroma to them by the time they get stiff. Lol. And the odd time I got a little on me it brushes off like wood. Funny had that saw for 10 years and 99 % of its life has been for things other then wood. I guess cause we have not much trees.

Got 15 snares out. I guess it's a start. I fn froze on that tundra on the way home. Had to stop 4 times thinking the hand warmers quit. Lol Forecast for tomorrow is colder so I don't know if I will get any more out tommorow. I remember the days I thought it would be fun to use a sled checking and setting traps Just like a real trapper. Hahahaba. I want to be the guy doing it in the truck again. Part timer !!!
