Managed to get 53 more today. Will be slower tommorow. Some of the subs are on there second night. Getting quite a few empty subs out at the houses. Some were blanks for the second night even though I re adjusted them after the first blank. Well maybe I got a couple right now. Maybe. Tricky deal when the water is waist deep, lots easier when it kne deep.

Oh forgot to mention I filled my draw cow moose tag this morning. I skinned the remaining rats till the sun came up then went for a drive and found this young dry cow out feeding in a canola field stubble. After much watching and waiting to make sure she was healthy ( there is a cow in area with bad limp) I ended up having to make a long shot on her. I had a set of shooting sticks and it was dead calm so I had confidence. Double lunged her and she only ran about 30 yards and expired.

Very nice catch of rats. That moose should make for some good eating.

I have the same problem with beaver.
I wonder what would happen if a guy took a leaf blower to them before he skinned them??

Ya got four tubs of rats and two of beavers. Butcher have me two additional moose hide/ heads so I think I will use them to cover my piles so maybe a coyote will at least get a taste before the birds eat it all. Things where easier before we got ravens.

Things where easier before we got ravens. Ravens are newcomers to Saskatchewan?? Great haul on the rats again.
